This category needs a clear statement before anything else. No authorised health claim exists in Great Britain for diindolylmethane or calcium d glucarate. That means we can tell you what is in the capsule and at what dose, and we are not permitted to tell you what it does. Any retailer making a confident claim about these ingredients is breaking the rules rather than knowing something we do not.

What these ingredients are

Diindolylmethane is a compound formed when the body digests indole-3-carbinol, which occurs naturally in cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli, cabbage, kale and Brussels sprouts. Supplements typically provide 100mg to 200mg.

Calcium d glucarate is the calcium salt of d glucaric acid, which is found in small amounts in fruit and vegetables. Supplemental doses are usually in the range of 500mg to 1500mg.

Both are food derived compounds sold as food supplements. Neither is a medicine and neither is licensed to treat anything.

What this category is not

It is not post cycle therapy. It is not a treatment for gynaecomastia. It is not an aromatase inhibitor, and products genuinely capable of altering hormone levels that way are prescription medicines regulated as such.
