Most vitamin C on sale is ascorbic acid, and at gram doses it upsets a fair number of stomachs. This is calcium ascorbate, made by combining ascorbic acid with calcium carbonate, which buffers it so it is not acidic and does not add to stomach acidity in sensitive people.
Each tablet also carries 250mg of bioflavonoids, which occur alongside vitamin C in whole foods, and the formula releases gradually over roughly two hours rather than all at once.
