Chevron Nutrition
Chevron Nutrition is a central European sports nutrition brand, and on this site it is the value option. Eight products, none of them over forty five pounds, and three of them under twenty. If you are assembling a stack and the budget is the constraint, this is usually where the cheapest sensible answer lives.
The range is unusually weighted towards glutamine. Three of the eight products are glutamine in different delivery formats, which is a strange thing for a brand to specialise in given how the evidence on glutamine has aged. That is worth being straight about before you spend anything, so the honest assessment is further down this page rather than buried.

The Chevron Nutrition range we stock
Eight Chevron Nutrition products across three of our categories. Two proteins, two creatines, and four things that live under amino acids, of which three are glutamine.
| Product | What it is | Category | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chevron Nutrition Beef Protein 2000 g | Hydrolysed beef protein isolate, two kilograms, for people avoiding dairy | protein | £44.00 |
| Chevron Nutrition 100% Whey Pure Effect | A straightforward whey concentrate blend in a large tub | protein | £42.00 |
| Chevron Nutrition Glutamine Recovery Drink 800g | Glutamine with added carbohydrate and electrolytes | amino acids and BCAA | £23.00 |
| Chevron Nutrition Glutamine Core 320 tabs | Glutamine in tablet form, no mixing required | amino acids and BCAA | £22.00 |
| Chevron Nutrition Creatine Monohydrate 500g | Plain monohydrate, the form with the research behind it | creatine | £20.00 |
| Chevron Nutrition Glutamine 500g | Unflavoured L glutamine powder | amino acids and BCAA | £17.00 |
| Chevron Nutrition Creatine Malate CM3 500 g | Tri creatine malate, creatine bonded to malic acid | creatine | £15.00 |
| Chevron Nutrition L Carnitine Drink 1000 ml | Ready to drink L carnitine, one litre | amino acids and BCAA | £15.00 |
The pricing pattern is consistent: Chevron sits ten to thirty percent under the equivalent product from the bigger names on this site. The creatine malate at fifteen pounds for five hundred grams and the L carnitine drink at the same price are the two cheapest items in their categories anywhere in our catalogue.
Choosing from the Chevron Nutrition range
Two of the eight Chevron Nutrition products are easy recommendations. The rest depend on what you believe about glutamine, and this page will not pretend that question is settled in glutamine’s favour.
Start with the creatine monohydrate
Twenty pounds for five hundred grams of the single best evidenced product in sports nutrition, from a brand that has not tried to make it exotic. At five grams a day that is a hundred servings, so twenty pence a day. Compare that against anything else in the creatine category and it is hard to beat on cost per gram.
Consider the beef protein only if dairy is the problem
Hydrolysed beef protein is a legitimate answer for people who genuinely cannot tolerate whey, and two kilograms for forty four pounds is fair for it. If dairy is not a problem for you, whey is cheaper per gram of protein, tastes better and has a superior amino acid profile. Buying beef protein for any other reason is paying more for less.
Approach the glutamine range with your eyes open
Glutamine is the most conditionally essential amino acid in the body and the supplement industry has been selling it on that fact for thirty years. In healthy, well fed people who are not recovering from burns or major surgery, the controlled trials on muscle recovery and immune function have been persistently underwhelming. If you want it, the tablets are the most convenient form and the recovery drink is the only one of the three that adds anything else.
What is actually inside
Two ingredient questions dominate the Chevron Nutrition range, and both are worth understanding before you choose between the products.
Creatine malate versus creatine monohydrate. CM3 is tri creatine malate: three creatine molecules bonded to one molecule of malic acid. The pitch is better solubility and a contribution from malate to the Krebs cycle. The reality is that the direct comparison studies between malate and monohydrate are few, small, and have not shown the performance gap the marketing implies. Monohydrate remains the reference standard because it has hundreds of trials behind it, not because nobody has tried to beat it. If the malate is cheaper on a given day, it is not a bad buy. If it costs more per gram of actual creatine, buy the monohydrate.
Hydrolysed beef protein versus whey. Beef protein isolate is produced from collagen rich raw material, and that is the part the marketing tends to skip. Collagen is low in the amino acids that drive muscle protein synthesis, particularly leucine, and high in glycine and proline, which are useful but not for the job most people buy protein powder to do. A hydrolysed beef protein can still be a perfectly good way to hit a daily protein target. It is not equivalent to whey gram for gram, and any product suggesting otherwise is trading on the word beef.
The glutamine recovery drink is the most interesting of the three glutamine products because it is not really a glutamine product. The added carbohydrate and electrolytes do a job after a long, hot or repeated session, and that job is well supported. If you buy it, buy it for the carbohydrate and the sodium rather than the glutamine, and judge the price on that basis.
Dosing and timing
Creatine, either form, is three to five grams a day taken consistently. Monohydrate mixes badly in cold water and that is cosmetic rather than functional. Stir it into something and drink it before it settles.
Glutamine servings on these products run from five to ten grams. The trials that showed anything used doses at the higher end of that range and often much higher, which is a cost consideration: at ten grams a day, a five hundred gram tub is fifty servings.
The L carnitine drink is a single serving bottle format, most often taken before training. Carnitine’s realistic effects require weeks of consistent intake to raise muscle carnitine content at all, and the acute pre workout dose is largely marketing. If you take carnitine, take it daily or do not take it.
Beef protein and whey follow the same rule as every other protein on this site: hit the daily target, and stop worrying about the clock. Twenty five to forty grams per serving covers most people’s needs per feeding.
How Chevron Nutrition compares here
Against the other brands in our catalogue, Chevron Nutrition competes on one axis and does it well.
| Brand | Strongest here | Typical price position | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chevron Nutrition | Price per serving | Lowest in most categories | Filling gaps in a stack cheaply |
| Peak Protocol | Label transparency and dose accuracy | Mid | Knowing exactly what you take |
| Amix Nutrition | Amino acid formats | Mid to upper | BCAA in a specific ratio or format |
| Weider | Creatine variants | Premium | Buyers who want a heritage name |
| Extrifit | Hydrolysed isolate | Upper mid | Lactose sensitivity and fast digestion |
What Chevron does not offer is a flagship product that anyone would call best in class. There is no equivalent here to a Gold Standard whey or a Creapure sourced monohydrate. This is a range built to be competent and cheap, and judged on that it succeeds.
Labelling, testing and UK rules
Chevron Nutrition products sold here are imported into Great Britain and carry UK compliant labelling, which means the ingredient list, the nutrition declaration and the allergen information follow the government rules on food labelling and packaging. Check the allergen line on the beef protein: several plant and dairy derived processing aids turn up in products people assume are single source.
On claims, the position is the same for an imported brand as for our own. Creatine carries one authorised claim in Great Britain, relating to physical performance in successive bursts of short term high intensity exercise at a three gram daily intake. Glutamine carries none. That absence is not an oversight in the register, it is the result of the claim substantiation process run through EFSA and carried into the GB register finding the evidence insufficient.
If a European label or a reseller listing makes a recovery or immunity claim for glutamine, that wording is not authorised for use in Great Britain. Read it as marketing from another jurisdiction rather than as a finding.
Who it suits, and who should skip it
Chevron Nutrition suits the person who has worked out what they want and now wants it as cheaply as possible without buying from an unknown seller on a marketplace. The creatine monohydrate in particular is a genuinely good product at a genuinely low price.
It suits people avoiding dairy who need a protein option and have already ruled out the plant blends.
It is a poor fit if you want flavour to be a selling point, if you want batch testing certificates, or if you are buying glutamine expecting the effect the category has been sold on for decades. On that last point, our page on which supplements actually have evidence is worth ten minutes before you spend anything.
Buying Chevron Nutrition in the UK
All eight Chevron Nutrition products are held in UK stock and ship domestically, so the European origin of the brand does not become your problem at the border. Same day dispatch on orders before the afternoon cut off.
Two storage notes specific to the Chevron Nutrition range. The L carnitine drink is a liquid and should be used within the period stated on the bottle once opened rather than left in a gym bag for a fortnight. Glutamine powder is hygroscopic and will clump if the tub is opened in a steamy kitchen, which is harmless but annoying.
Delivery timings, payment options and the returns position are on shipping and returns. Unopened items can go back within the stated window.
Common questions
Is Chevron Nutrition CM3 better than ordinary creatine monohydrate?
There is no reliable evidence that it is. Tri creatine malate dissolves more readily and that is the one claim that holds up. On performance outcomes the head to head data against monohydrate is thin and has not shown a meaningful advantage. Buy whichever gives you more creatine per pound.
Why does Chevron sell three different glutamine products?
Format preference. Powder is cheapest per gram, tablets need no mixing, and the recovery drink adds carbohydrate and electrolytes for use after longer sessions. The underlying glutamine question is the same for all three, and we cover it honestly in the ingredients section above.
Is beef protein as good as whey for building muscle?
Not gram for gram. Most beef protein isolates are produced from collagen rich material, which is low in leucine, and leucine is the amino acid most closely tied to triggering muscle protein synthesis. It is a reasonable option if dairy causes you problems and a poor trade if it does not.
How does Chevron Nutrition manage to be so much cheaper?
Lower marketing spend, simpler packaging, and no athlete endorsements. The raw materials in a creatine monohydrate are a commodity, and a large part of what you pay for premium creatine is the brand rather than the powder.
Does the L carnitine drink burn fat?
No, and it is not permitted to claim that it does. Carnitine transports fatty acids into mitochondria, which is why the story sounds plausible, but oral supplementation raises muscle carnitine content slowly and unreliably, and the weight loss trials have been disappointing.
Can I mix Chevron Nutrition creatine with the glutamine powder?
Yes, there is no interaction and both are stable dry. Mix them fresh rather than storing a pre made bottle, because creatine slowly converts to creatinine in solution over hours to days.
